MARTIN EVANS DIES AT 68; ADAMS MILLS BUSINESSMAN Martin L. Evans, 68, of Trinway, former manager of Evans Sohio Service at Adams Mills, died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday (Oct 17) at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital where he was admitted that morning. He had been in failing health for sometime. Born Oct.6, 1902, at Denton, (Carter) KY., he was a son of Alfred D. and Cassie Sergent Evans. Mr. Evans was manager of the combination grocery, service station and restaurant for a number of years until he sold the business last April. He was a member of the Black Run Church of God near Frazeysburg. Surviving are his widow, the former Alma Grubb of the home; two sons, Francis Evans of Coshocton and Alfred (Bob) Evans of Marne; five daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Belva) Evans of Newark Route 4, Mrs. Euell (Freda) Miller Jr. of Millersburg Route 2, Mrs. Robert (Rose) Lewis of Coshocton Lake Park, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Elmore of Trinway, Miss Joyce Evans of the home and a granddaughter, Miss Alma Evans of the home; 29 other granchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. George (Millie) Reeves and Mrs. Saphronia Bellow, both of Denton, KY; two brothers, Chester Evans of Coshocton Route 5 and Jack of Rhoderfield, W. Va. Two sons, four sisters and five brothers are deceased. The body was removed to the Bachman and Sons Funeral Home at Dresden. -1970
