Mrs. May Powell March 14, 1967 The Ashland Dailey Independent Mrs. Powell, 50 Dies Suddenly of Heart Attack Russell---Mrs. May Powell, 50, wife of Edward Powell, 2117 Charles Street, Portsmouth, Ohio, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The Powell family formerly resided in Russell. The body is at the Daehler Funeral Home, Portsmouth, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Richard L. Mitchell will officiate and burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods. Mrs. Powell was born in Grayson, Ky., Aug. 2 1908, a daughter of the late Albert and Rose Keffer Evans. She was a ardent sportswoman and a member of the Portsmouth Ladies Bowling League. She had shown in several horse shows in the tri-state area. She is survived by her husband Edward Powell; one son, Jack Powell, Portsmouth, a daughter, Mrs. June Daley of West Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, Willard Evans of Ashland, Two sisters, Mrs. Faye Prince, Benton, Ky., and Mrs. Bessie Fultz of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and five grandchildren.
