Adele Glass Vincent, a psychologist and teacher who worked for the Cincinnati and Madeira public school systems, died Thursday of cancer at Pleasant Hill Nursing and Hospice Home in Piketon, Ohio. She was 79.
She and John Paul Vincent, her husband of 54 years, had been residing at the Bristol Village Retirement Community in Waverly, Ohio.
Mrs. Vincent was born in Grayson, Ky. She earned a bachelor's in education at Morehead State University and her master's in school psychology at Miami University.
A teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools and later a school psychologist for Madeira City Schools, Mrs. Vincent was a founding member of the National Association of School Psychologists in 1970.
From 1955 to 1986, she and her family lived in Norwood.

Mrs. Vincent enjoyed gardening, cooking and participating in activities at Waverly United Methodist Church.
But family came first, according to her son, Dan Vincent of Crestline, Ohio.

"First and foremost, she was a wonderful mother and wife," he said. "For 10 years, she put her career on hold and stayed home to raise her kids."
In addition to her husband and son, Mrs. Vincent is survived by three sisters, Roxie Kneisley and Agnes Montgomery, both of Waverly, and Elizabeth Cooke, of Flatwoods, Ky. and a granddaughter.
Services have been held. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashland, Ky. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, 11117 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati 45242.
