Kentucky GenWeb projectLorene Greer (1921-2006) Lorene Glass Greer, 85, of Ashland, Ky., died May 23, 2006, in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington following a sudden illness. Mrs. Greer was born May 1, 1921, in Gregoryville, Ky., a daughter of the late Claude and Florence Everman Glass. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Gallion and Jo Ann Greer. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Edward Greer; two brothers, Hubert Glass of Greenup, Ky., and Franklin Glass of Grayson, Ky.; three sisters, Dorothy Carroll of Grayson, Grace Haney of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Lois Haney of Columbus, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Melissa Sims and her husband, Joe, of Columbus, Ohio. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Stewart. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 25, 2006, at the funeral home.
