Myrtle G. “Mom” Richards - 1912-2007 Myrtle G. “Mom” Richards, 95, of Logan, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. She was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Grayson, Ky., daughter of the late John and Matilda Ellen Boggs Grizzell. Myrtle was the widow of Robert M. Richards, who passed away in 1993. They were married for 50 years. She was a member of Kline Memorial United Methodist Church in Enterprise and an art educator who taught in the Ashland and Grayson area. She was a homemaker, baker and loving mother and doting grandmother. Her greatest joy was her faith in the Lord and her admiration and affection for all children. Myrtle is survived by a son, Robert A. Richards of Logan; two daughters, Myrtle (Neil) Caughenbaugh of Logan and Diana (Dan) Swartz of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; special friends Mike and Renee Williams of Logan; caregivers Cheryl and Denny Barlow of Rockbridge; and her beagle, Pokey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; a son, Sterling Edward (Chris) Criswell; two daughters, Helen Boyle and Janet Martin; granddaughter Pamela Lynch; and son-in-law Leo Boyle. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with the Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. Entombment will be in New Fairview Mausoleum in Rockbridge. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
