Kentucky GenWeb projectTHE CHRONICLE TELEGRAM (Elyria, Ohio) Sunday, March 24, 1991 Opal Marie Clark (nee Gullett), 78, of Elyria was pronounced dead Saturday at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a two year illness. Born in Carter County, Ky., she lived 42 years in Ashland, Ky., where she retired in 1972 after 35 years as a cook at Henry Clay Hotel. Mrs. Clark lived in Elyria since Aug. 1989. She attended New Life Baptist Church, Elyria, where she was a Vacation Bible School Volunteer for many years. Survivors include sons, James S. of Temple, Texas, George of Elyria, and Raymond N. and Willie K., both of Lorain; daughters, Lois E. Tegan of Lorain, Alice M. Donohoe of Warren and Mary J. Bailey of New Carlisle; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Crisp of Prestonburg, Ky. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, James H., on May 11, 1959 after 25 years of marriage; a brother and sisters. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Friends also may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home, 1501 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky., where services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Charles Stewart, pastor of Rose Hill Baptist Church where Mrs. Clark was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
