Irene King 

1925-2004 

Irene King, 78, of Corbin, Ky., died Monday, May 3, 2004, in Corbin B.R.M.C. 

She was born June 23, 1925, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Robert L. Johnson and Melissa Parish Johnson. 

She was a retired medical worker and believed in the Baptist faith. She was a member of West Corbin Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. King; three brothers, Elbert Lee Johnson, 
Arlie Johnson and Arvel Johnson; three sisters, Letha Johnson, Linnie Gee and Minnie Manning; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one grandson. 

Surviving are one son, Estill King and his wife, Phyllis of Corbin; two daughters, Lillie Blackburn and her husband, Gary, 
and Felicia Fitzpatrick and her husband, David, all of Corbin; one sister, Hazel Stamper of Olive Hill, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 
eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today, May 5, 2004, at West Corbin Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy McPheron. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. 

Friends may call after noon today at the church. 

Corbin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
