Oleta Marie Johnson Whisman 1966-2006 MOREHEAD - Oleta Marie Johnson Whisman, also known as “Sissy” and “O. J.,” age 39, of Reeves Branch Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 6, 2006. She was born December 11, 1966, in Carter County, Kentucky, and is the daughter of Ida Lee Mauk Pennington of Greenup County, Kentucky, and the late Charles Richard Johnson, who passed away on June 3, 2000. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Jody Lee Lunsford on May 7, 1986, and two brothers—Charles Richard Johnson III on March 28, 1968 and Joseph Lee Johnson on September 10, 1989. In addition to her mother and stepfather, Jim Pennington, she is also survived by her fiancé—Jody “Joe” Lunsford of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one son—Johnny Allen Whisman of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three brothers—Michael Wayne Johnson of Ashland, Kentucky, and Damon Johnson and Dallas Johnson, both of Greenup, Kentucky; three sisters—Elizabeth Ann Fouch of Morehead, Kentucky; Laura Katie Schmauch of Greenup, Kentucky; Linda Gail Pennington of Flatwoods, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Mrs. Whisman was a homemaker. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Hamilton and the Rev. Kenny Fouch officiating; burial will follow at the Frederick B. Mauk Cemetery on Mauk Ridge in Elliott County. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Wayne Johnson, Damon Johnson, Dallas Johnson, Robert Schmauch, Jimmy Pennington, and Elwood Mauk.
