Earnest Jordan -1915-2007

Earnest Jordan, 91, of Greenup, died Friday, March 23, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mr. Jordan was born July 1, 1915, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late John and Julie Stamper Jordan.

He was a retired blacksmith helper with CSX. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and antique cars, and playing with his grandchildren. 
He was a member of the Flatwoods Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Oddesty Jordan; a son, James E. Jordan; three brothers; and three sisters.

Mr. Jordan is survived by six children, Betty (John) Kiser of Lexington, Ky., Carl H. (Janet) Jordan of Greenup, 
Helen Jordan of Flatwoods, Jo Ann (Ken) Blanton of Greenup, Julie (Mark) Parks of Flatwoods and Brenda (Danny) Stone of Flatwoods; 
two brothers, Burl Jordan of Greenup and Herb Jordan of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Myrel Lenwell of Riga, Mich.; 
20 grandchildren, John Y. (Tracy) Kiser, James “Doug” (Tammy) Jordan, Jonda (Tim) Evans; 
Kevin Boyle, Elisa (Andy) Kennemer, Michelle Jordan, Jennifer (David) Sutphin, Johnathan Jordan, Christopher (Chanin) Boyle, 
Kendra (Jason) Lewis, Angela (Shawn) Horsley, Nathan (Davonne) Parks, Anna Parks, Elizabeth Stone, Jordan Parks, 
Kendra (Brian) Haney, Beth (Buck) Hannah, Karen (Delbert) Smith, Kimberly (Ron) Overstreet and Lee Everly; 
25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and four caregivers.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Flatwoods Church of Christ. 
Ministers John Brown and Todd Parsley will officiate. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm. Monday, March 26, 2007, at the church.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods is in charge of arrangements.
