Daniel D. Keaton, Sr., 77, of Long Fork Rd., Piketon, Ohio, died 10:20 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, at the Cincinnati V.A. Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born October 21, 1926, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Willie and Ethel (Fultz) Keaton. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Palm) Keaton. Also surviving are three sons, Robert (Jo) Keaton, Daniel D. (Vicki) Keaton, Jr. and James (Sharlene) Keaton, all of Piketon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Keaton and Denvil Keaton and four sisters, Frances Zimmerman, Rosey Johnson, Jewell Broome and Lucille Adkins. He was a heavy equipment operator at Igel, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Yankee Hill Community Church. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004, at Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home, Piketon, Ohio, with Rev. Terry Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville, Ohio, where military graveside services will be held by the Ross County Firing Squad. Friends may call at Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until the service on Monday. Email this story
