Kentucky GenWeb projectRichard N. Mabry 1934-2004 Richard "Newt" Mabry, 69, of Olive Hill, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born in Elliott County, Ky., on Aug. 8, 1934, a son of the late Robert Mabry and the late Goldie Holbrook. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, baby Ryan. He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Mae Mabry; nine daughters, Judy and Charles Barker, Sandra and Bill Woods, Sheila and Chester Markwell, Amy Mabry, Tammy and Steve Newell, Tina Denise Mabry, Kimberly and J.D. Holbrook, Lisa and Brian Appleman, and Shavon Mabry; six sons, Ricky and Velda Mabry, Ronnie and Debbie Mabry, T-Ray and Kim Mabry, Phillip and Brenda Mabry, Trooper Dennis and Jodie Mabry, and Shawn and Angie Mabry; 36 grandchildren, Tonya, Robin and Sarah Barker, Charlie and Jeremy Johnson, Chris Woods, Pfc. Chad Markwell, Benjamin and Chelsea Markwell, Vanessa Ingle, Jason Gillium and Corey Menix, Darren Newell, Jacob Mabry, Richie, Tasha, Kimmie and Ashley Mabry, Justin Holbrook, Bethany, Brittany and Tanner Mabry, Joshua, James and Jordan Mabry, Jerrad Appleman, Nathan Lewis, Doyle, Kelly and Nathan Cox, Faith and Alexis Mabry, Chase Mabry, Christopher and Tyler Mabry, and Wyatt Austin Mabry; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Travis Lewis, Kady Grace Lewis, Emmie and Cadden Ingle, and Alexis Gillium; sisters, Lillie Mae Myers and Linda Osborne; a very special friend, Keena Newman; and many nieces and nephews. His family, friends and neighbors will cherish their fond memories of him and he will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by Raymond Allen Barker, minister. Burial will be in Mabry Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
