Opal Kirk

Opal Kirk of Ashland went to be with the Lord Friday, March 23, 2007 in Woodland Oaks Health Care Center.

She was born in Carter County, Ky., the daughter of the late Wilson and Laura Whitt Maggard.

She was a charter member of the Ashland First Church of the Nazarene where she was also a Sunday School kindergarten teacher for many years. 
She was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods Co.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice A. Kirk in 1979.

Survivors include six nieces, Donna Powers, Brenda Lewis, Barbara Nall of Ashland, Mary Louise Hall of Greenup, Ky., 
Delores Wilburn and Betty Scott of Grayson, Ky.; two nephews, Lewis Edwards of Lexington, Ky., and Frank Kirk Jr. of Louisville, Ky.; 
and special friend, Ina Scott of Russell, Ky.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Dr. Steve Ruby officiating. 
Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ashland First Church of the Nazarene, 2201 Bath Ave., Ashland, KY 41101 
or Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
