Kentucky GenWeb projectZona Parsons - 1928-2007 Zona Ann McCormick Parsons, 79, of Indianapolis formerly of Carter, Kentucky, died Friday, October 19, 2007. Zona was born on August 14, 1928 in Carter County, Kentucky to Shelby and Bessie Southerland McCormick; they preceded her in death. Her brothers, John, William, Jack, and Elbert McCormick, her sisters, Lula Riley and Rebecca Taylor, and her husband of 44 years, Emmitt Parsons, who died in 1991, also preceded Zona in death. Mrs. Parsons is survived by her daughter, Donna Hannah, her granddaughter, Robin O’Bryant and her husband, Darrin, her grandson, Brian Green and his wife, Tonya, her great-granddaughters, Sydnee O’Bryant and Kylee Green; her sister, Jennie Ash, her nephew and adopted son, William McCormick and his wife, Kathy, and their children, Steven, Ray, Angie and Kathy. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Smith Creek Christian Church in Carter, Kentucky where she was a member, Pastor Monroe Burton officiating. Burial is to follow at Arms Cemetery near Carter. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Zionsville, Indiana (317) 873-3366.
