Kentucky GenWeb projectNora Porter 1945-2004 Nora Jean McCoy Harr Porter, age 58, of Porter Creek Road, Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 6, 2004, at her residence. Mrs. Porter was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles and Rhoda Parsons McCoy. She was a homemaker and factory worker and a five-year member of Fairview Methodist Church. Jean is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dayton Porter; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Evelyn Harr of Olive Hill, and David Harr of Morehead, Ky.; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Mark and Janie porter of Olive Hill; three stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Jackie Miles of Taylor Mill, Ky., Micha and Jamie Ertel of Milford, Ohio, and Delrita and James Wells of Morehead; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Clyde McCoy and Arvil McCoy, both of Grayson, and Hubert McCoy of Carter City, Ky.; and one sister, Catherine Hamilton of Wurtland, Ky. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 8, 2004, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill and officiated by Steve Lathan. Burial will follow in Carton Cemetery on Mauk Ridge Road in Elliott County, Ky. Friends may call anytime before the service today at the funeral home.
