OBIT - Dorothy Helen Carroll, 82, of Huntington, went to be with her Savior Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at her residence. She was born Jan 27, 1923, in Grahn, Ky. to the late John Littleton and Plura McDowell. She is the widow of Jesse Carroll, who preceded her in 1983. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Harper of Van, W. Va., and Alice J. Perry of Huntington; a foster son, Tommy Ferguson; three grandchildren and spouses, Kathy and Tony Petry, Van, Karen and Richard White, Van, Barry and Stephanie Harper, Brandytown, W. Va.; six great-grandchildren, Mandy and Rae Lynn Ball, Van, Athena Petry, Kenna, W. Va., Katie Marie White, Van, Brandon Harper, Van, Justin Harper, Bandytown; two great-grandchildren, Phoenix Destiny Lowther, Van, and Shay Lee Ball, Van; sisters, Hazel Hall and Nancy Elizabeth Waugh, Grayson, Ky.; special friends, Pauline Kyle, Shelva Rakes and Henry Rakes. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. She was a lifelong caregiver as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifetime member of Barrett Church of the Nazarene, Barrett, W. Va., and attended Good Shepherd Freewill Baptist Church, West Pea Ridge. She was also preceded by a very dear and special friend, Carroll H. Collins. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at Henson Morturary with the Rev. Larry Sanders officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. The visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Special thanks to Hospice of Huntington.
