Gracie June McFarland Porter Born - 1921 ELLIOTT COUNTY - Gracie June McFarland Porter, age 85, of Elliott County, passed away Saturday morning, March 17, in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Mrs. Porter was born September 19, 1921 in Elliott County, a daughter of the late James Sr. and Grace Cox McFarland. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Lawson; and one brother, James McFarland. June was a homemaker, a Christian, and a member of the Porter Creek Church of God. She is survived by her loving family, four daughters and sons-in-laws, Marcella and Ray Barker, Jean and Jack Maggard, Patricia and Glennis Blankenbeckler, and Rita and Chris Smith all of Olive Hill; one brother, Elwood McFarland of Olive Hill; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hardy and Bonnie Porter of Olive Hill; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will sadly mourn her passing. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Bro. Johnny Moore, Bro. John Austin Carter, and Bro. Elijah Wagoner officiated the service. Burial followed in the Porter Cemetery on Porter Creek. Kevin Blankenbeckler, Keith Blankenbeckler, Daryl Maggard, Ronnie Boggs, Rick Lewis, Robbie Wells, and Kenneth Gilbert serving as pallbearers. Ray Barker, Jack Maggard, Jamie Gilbert, Chris Smith, Glennis Blankenbeckler, and George Smith serving as honorary pallbearers.
