Portsmouth Times Wednesday, July 28, 1952 SARAH EDA STAMPER 1874-1952 Mrs. Sarah Eda Stamper, 79, died at 1:09 this morning at the home of her son, Robert, with whom she lived at 1923 19th Street. Death followed a lingering illness of several years. She had been in critical condition for seven weeks. Born in Carter County, Ky., July 6, 1874, Mrs. Stamper was a daughter of Robert and Miranda Alice Kitchen McGlone, both deceased. H er husband, George W. Stamper, also preceded her. Survivors include sons, Robert R. William of Wheelersburg and George of Rooney, Ky.,; brothers, Thomas McGlone of South Webster, George of Ruggles, Ky., and Joseph of Edgewood, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Bessie M. Wolfe, 8719 Grace St., New Boston, 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceding Mrs. Stamper in death were the husband, parents, three sons, a daughter, three brothers and a sister. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Carter. Funearl services were conducted at Bethel (Ky.) Chapel. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Windel-Howland Funeral Home.
