Kentucky GenWeb projectLenore Jean Evans - 1919-2007 Lenore Jean Evans, 88, of Grayson, passed away at her residence in the presence of her loving family on Thursday morning. She was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Sharpsburg, Ky., the daughter of the late Albert and Edna Flannery Mundy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harold Evens; her son, Charles Henry Evans; and two brothers, Charles and James Mundy. She was president of Evans Lumber Co. in Grayson until her retirement in 2001. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Messer of Olive Hill; a brother, Edwin Mundy of Olive Hill, Ky.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Evans of Russell; four grandsons, James Harold Evans (Arlene) of Grayson, Paul Clere of Russell, Steve Clere (Sherry) of Grayson and John Clere (Donna) of Westwood; and five great-grandchildren. A very special thanks to caregiver Judy Bowens for her wonderful care of Jim’s grandmother. Thanks to Community Hospice for its support. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 7, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Funeral services will be by Dr. Lee Gussler at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in East Carter County Memory Gardens. Condolences may be sent to sparksfh.com.
