Vernal “Bun” Osenton - 1921-2007 Vernal “Bun” Osenton, 86, of Ashland, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at his daughter’s residence in Louisville following a sudden illness. He was born May 18, 1921, in Grayson, Ky., a son of the late James Osenton and the late Etta Gromiger Osenton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anna Messersmith Osenton in 2006; twin brothers, Robert and Malcolm Osenton; and a sister, Opal Rupert. He was a retired clerk from C&O Railway with 30 years of service and a member of Ashland First Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are a daughter, Annetta Thrasher and her husband, Phillip of Louisville, Ky.; and grandchildren, Matthew Thrasher of Louisville, Aaron Thrasher and wife, Brooke of Louisville and Laura McDavid and husband, Dustin of Grand Prairie, Texas. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Steve Ruby. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
