Margie Payton MANSFIELD -- Margie Payton, 80, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at her home. Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Olive Hill, Ky., she was the daughter of Morton and Lottie Stephens Parsons. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Un-ion, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years. Mrs. Payton was a member of the Fishers of Men Group and enjoyed visiting people. She gave her life to Christ at age 12 and was a very caring, loving, and giving person. She is survived by two daughters, Judy K. Payton of Mansfield, Francis Ann (Tye) Brown of Minford; son, Willard Eugene (Pat) Payton of Louisville, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Linda Payton of Mansfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Erwin, Audrey and Peter Porter, Opal Arnett, all of Mansfield, Hazel and Noah Sammons, and Doris and Bill Bellomy, all of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; life time friend, Lois Curry; and live-in caregiver and friend, Kristi Bland and her son. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene W. Payton; two sons, Charles "Butch" Payton and John Payton; two brothers, Ted Parsons and Kenneth Parsons; one sister, Mary Kirkpatrick; brothers-in-law, Delbert Erwin and Raymond Arnett; and ex brother-in-law, Perry Silvey. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may also call one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service at the Church of Christ in Christian Union. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
