Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Cook, 64, of Rt. 2, Pataskala, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Thurston Funeral Home in Pataskala,
with the Rev. Howard Clark officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Cemetery near Pataskala.
Mrs. Cook died Monday in Grant Hospital, Columbus, where she had been a patient for three weeks. Her clothing reportedly caught fire
while preparing a meal. She made her home at the Elkza Donovan residence.
She was born Oct. 11, 1905 in Grayson, Ky., to William and Julia Carpenter Pickens.
Surviving are two daughters; Mrs. Virginia Hensley of Gahanna, and Mrs. Jacqueline Barns of Nevada; three sister; Mrs. Elizabeth Walton, New Albany,
Catherine Miller and Daisy Daugherty, both of Johnstown; three brother; Vernon Pickens of Louisiana, Morris Pickens, Safety Harbor, Fla.,
and Ted Pickens of Columbus; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
