Kentucky GenWeb projectDora Pierce Muncy (1911-2007) Dora Pierce Muncy, 95, of Russell, Ky., died April 16, 2007, in Trinity Station in Flatwoods, Ky. She was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Argillite, a daughter of the late Charles and Pearlie May Pierce. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Muncy; a daughter, Phyllis and Kenneth Swift; five brothers, Clifford, Charles, Clyde, Carl and William Pierce; and two sisters, Carrie and Eva Pierce. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Raceland, Ky., and Order of Eastern Star Mistletoe Chapter 144 in Flatwoods. Surviving are a son, Robert E. (Bonnie) Muncy of Russell; seven grandchildren, Blenda (Joe) Mantle, Brad (Kim) Muncy, Brian (Jackie) Muncy, Brent (Sonya) Muncy, Mark (Lorene) Swift, Greg (Tawana) Swift and Lisa (Joe) Bryan; 12 great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Cecil (Sandy) Pierce. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
