Kentucky GenWeb projectElwood Pope 1938 - 2005 Elwood “Woody” Pope, age 67, of Grayson, KY, passed away Thursday, December 1st, at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead. Mr. Pope was born May 2nd, 1938, at Carter County, KY, a son the late Phillip Everett and Amelia Margaret Gee Pope. He was a Farmer and a member of the Barretts Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacki Gail Pope. His survivors include: His wife: Glenna Kay VanHorn Pope of Grayson 2 daughters: Lori (Robert) Wall of Grayson Paula (David) Thornberry of Grayson 4 sisters: Kathleen Everman of Olive Hill, KY Wilma Ferguson of Huntington, WV Sandy Lewis of Sandy Hook, KY Joy Kelley of Versailles, KY 3 brothers: Walter Pope of Brooksville, OH Phillip Everett Pope Jr. of Ravenna, OH Eugene Pope of Grayson, KY 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 3rd, 2005 at 2:00pm at the Malone Funeral Home with George Steele, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
