Royce Glen "Gene" Porter, 71, of Sandy Hook, Elliott Co, KY, born April 10, 1929 in Carter Co, KY, 
son of the late Cecil and Sarah Maggard Porter, died June 1, 2000 in Morehead, Rowan Co, KY.  

Preceded: brother, David Maggard Jr.  Survived: wife, Rose Eileen Hall Porter, son, Larry Royce Porter, 
daughters, Jessie Elizabeth Lewis, Carolyn Jean Whitt and Deborah Ann Skaggs, brother, Roy Everett Porter, 
sister, Jessie Elaine Lewis, 7 grandchildren.  

Burial: June 4, 2000 in the Porter Cemetery, North Ruin, Elliott Co, KY.


Royce Porter 1931-2004 Royce Porter, 72, of Hitchins, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Mr. Porter was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Webbville, Ky., a son of the late John Willie and Faye Frazier Porter. He was retired from Kentucky Electric Steel, was a mason helper, attended the Mayhew Flats Community Church, and was a member of Labor Local No. 1445 of Catlettsburg, Ky. In addition to his parents, a sister, Myrtle Johnson, and a brother, Ernest Ward Porter, preceded him in death. His survivors include his wife, Emma Marshall Porter of Hitchins; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Tommy Carter of Grayson, and Connie and Joe Saunders and Missy and Chris Carter, all of Lexington, Ky.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Timothy Porter and Mark and Sharon Porter, all of Hitchins and Keith and Tammy Porter of Grayson; three sisters, Christene Cooper of Grayson, Wanda Wells of Vermillion, Ohio, and Joyce Ann Ratcliff of Willard, Ky.; three brothers, Denver Porter of Hitchins, and Rex Porter and John Curtis "Trigger" Porter, both of Webbville; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 30, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Eddie Rice officiating. Burial will be in Porter Family Cemetery in Webbville.
