Meredith Byron Queen 1923 - 2003 Meredith Byron Queen, 80, of Hitchins left to be with his heavenly father, Thursday, May 22, 2003 in KDMC in Ashland. Mr. Queen was born January 18, 1923, a son of the late Calvin and Anna Waddell Queen. He was a WWII Army Veteran, was retired from AK Steel in East Processing, and attended Little Vine Predestinarian Baptist Church in Denton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Russell Queen and Sharon P. Queen. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Ruby Horton Queen of Hitchins. His other survivors include: 2 Daughters and one son in law: Kathy Lewis of Grayson, KY and Donna and Mike Hewlett of Greenup, KY; 2 Granddaughters: Elizabeth Lewis and Meredith Lewis of Grayson, KY; 2 Step-grandchildren: Christina Thomas and Jacob Hewlett both of Worthington, KY; 2 Nephews: James R. Queen of Russell, KY and Paul D. Queen of Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN; 4 Step-great-grandsons: Alex Hewlett, Coleman Thomas, Chase Thomas and Gavin Reed all of Worthington, KY. Funeral services will be Sunday, 2:00 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Farmer officiating. Committal will be in the East Carter Co.
