Kentucky GenWeb projectThe Carter County Herald, August 25, 1921 AGED CITIZEN DIES Henry Willis Raybourn, aged 87 years, died at his home on Upper Tygart on Monday morning, August 22 at 4 o'clock after an extended illness of some time of infirmities of old age. Mr. Raybourn was probably the oldest man in this section of the county, and was well and favorably known. He was a member of the Methodist church and for many years preached the word of God to fallen humanity over this country to many of the pulpit, but several years ago he lost his eyesight and was compelled to quit the work. He leaves besides a host of other relatives and friends, six children, three girls, Mrs. Lucinda Masters, of New Castle, Ind.; Mrs. Lillie Wright of Rowan county; Mrs. Bettie Patton of Upper Tygart; three sons, Elbert and Henry of Stausburg, Ohio; and Squire Raybourn of Upper Tygart. The body was laid to its final resting place near the old home in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Tuesday after funeral services.
