5/6/2004 Joe D. Reynolds 1924-2004 Joe D. Reynolds, 80, of 76 Hardwood Lane, Globe, Ky., passed away Tuesday morning, May 4, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Reynolds was born April 8, 1924, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Kay and Bertha Newsome Reynolds. Joe retired in 1985 as executive director with the Northeast Kentucky Area Development Council. He attended the Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church. Joe was a 50-year member of the Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708 F&AM, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite, a member of El Hasa Shrine Temple and Carter County Shrine Club, was a Kentucky colonel, was a charter member of the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138 and was a World War II Army veteran. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Reynolds and Glen Reynolds; and one sister, Mildred Reeder. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maxine Bond Reynolds of Globe, along with several nieces and nephews, who will sadly miss him. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Ky., with Gary Erwin, Lewis Davis and J.C. Bond officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill with graveside military rites conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7 tonight and will be conducted by Soldier Masonic Lodge No. 708 F&AM. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to the Garvin Ridge Wesleyan Church Building Fund or Shriners Crippled Hospital of Lexington, Ky.
