Kentucky GenWeb projectHarry Eugene Rice (1934-2007) Harry Eugene Rice, 72, of Ashland, Ky., died Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2007, in Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Rice was born June 6, 1934, in Denton, Ky., a son of the late Nigal and Laura Williams Rice. He was a Korean Navy veteran, retired from the maintenance department of AK Steel, served as past Flatwoods City Councilman, was a lifetime member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his brother, William Donald (Sue) Rice of Chicago, Ill.; one niece, Cindy Crites; two nephews, Craig Rice and William Edward Rice; five cousins, Christine Williams, with whom he made his home in Ashland, Ira Williams Jr. of Willard, Ky., William James Williams of Florida, Loraine Williams Bush of Ohio and Charles Williams of Baltimore, Md.; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, especially Doris Samford of Texas, Geneva Ratliff and Karen Conlon, both of Greenup, Tracie Anderson and Mandy Crawford, both of Ashland, and Edna Fraley of Russell, Ky. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum by the Rev. Ronnie Evans. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 tonight at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland and after 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Mausoleum
