Kentucky GenWeb projectWALTER SEXTON Lewis County Herald April 13, 1983 Funeral services for Walter Sherman Sexton, 67, Grayson, who died Monday, April 4, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Malone Funearl Home in Grayson by Bennie Wadkins, minister. Burial was in the Richardson Cemetery at Carter City. Mr. Sexton was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Carter County, a son of the late Elliott and Viola McGinnis Sexton. He was a Christian Faith Protestant and a retired engineer for the Penn-Central Railroad with 34 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Iola Stamper Sexton; a son, Gary Sexton of Cleveland; three brothers, Albert Sexton of Wilmington, Ohio, Andrew Sexton of Garrison and James McCormick of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Buckler and Mrs. Myrtle Phillips, both of South Shore; and two grandchildren.
