Kentucky GenWeb projectAshland Daily Independent 6/6/2004 Opal Smith 1931-2004 Opal Simmons Smith, 73, of Sanford, N.C., formerly of Buckeye Tower, New Boston, Ohio, died Friday, June 4 at the residence of her daughter. She was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Carter County. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery in Carter City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
