Kentucky GenWeb projectAshland Dailey Independent Dec 28 1999 Della Cox 1922-1999 Della Faye Cox, 77, of Uhlen Branch Road, Wurtland, died Sunday, December 26 1999, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Mrs. Cox was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Dickenson Co. Va., a daughter of the late Lonnie and Gertie May Puckett Sloan. A daughter, Phyllis Jean Cox, preceded her in death. She was a Baptist. Surviving are her husband, William "Bill Ed" Cox; three sons, James Edward Cox and John G Cox, both of Greenup and William Roger Cox of Wurtland; a daughter, Patty Frazier of Lloyd; five brothers, Harold Sloan of Wurtland, Bobby Sloan, Dean Sloan, G. D. Sloan and Ray Sloan, all of Flatwoods; 18 grandchildren, including Melody Cox Buckler whom she raised; and 32 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by the Rev. Robert Baldridge. Burial will be in the Cox Cemetery in Greenup. Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight and after 9 a. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
