Kentucky GenWeb projectDorothy Goon SHELBY -- Dorothy Goon, 68, of Shelby, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 26, 1938, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William and Vina Webb Snipes. Dorothy was a Mansfield area homemaker most of her life. She is survived by five sons, Ronald (Cindy) Perkins of Willard, Matt (Dawn) Perkins of Shelby, Tim Perkins of Willard, Fred Goon of Shelby, and Gene Goon of Mansfield; a daughter, Carolyn (Robert) McGathey of Mansfield; sister, Garnet Fox of North Carolina; brother, Ballard (Ann) Snipes of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Michelle, Nick, Brad, Wes, Tracy, Michael, Nichole, Bobby, Joe, Brandy, Brian, Jacob and Chelcie; a step grandson, Tommy; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; five sisters, Thelma, Dori, Stella, Jean and Margie; and a brother, Albert. Graveside services will be Monday, April 3, 2006, at 10 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery.
