JOHN STAMPER 1903-1997 The Daily Independent, Ashland, Kentucky Friday, February 14, 1997 John Stamper, 93, of Olive Hill, died Wednesday at his home. Mr. Stamper was born Nov. 27, 1903, in Carter County, a son of the late Albert and Ella Davis Stamper. His wife, Ethel Humphries Stamper, preceded him in death. He was a farmer and a Baptist. Surviving are four sons, Estill Glen Stamper, Virgil Ray Stamper, John Henry Stamper and Clinton Stamper, all of Olive Hill; two daughters, Margie Lois Sorrell of Flatwoods and Edna Mae Kitchen of Olive Hill; three brothers, Charlie Stamper of Olive Hill, Wilburn Stamper of Lucasville, Ohio, and Ruby Edwin Stamper of Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters, Leeanna McCoy of Pickerington, Ohio, and Martha Dugan of Portsmouth, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill by Hansel Webb. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
