Kentucky GenWeb projectROBERT R. STAMPER Portsmouth Daily Times Monday, August 29, 1988 Robert R. Stamper, Sr., 83, of Portsmouth, died Sunday at home. A native of Carter County, Ky., he was a retired electrical and steam engineer, formerly employed by Ohio Schools and Portsmouth Receiving Hospital. Preceded in death by his wife Mamie Frances Massie Stamper on January 10, 1980, he is survived by two sons, Robert R. Stamper Jr. of Columbus and Harry Stamper of Glendale, Arizona; four daughters, Sadie Walters of Sciotoville, Dorothy Thomas of Portsmouth, Eda Tolle of Riverview, Fla., and Frances Philips of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Services were conduced at Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gregory Pennington officiating. Interment was in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio.
