Martha Stanley Manning (1917-2006)

Mrs. Martha Stanley Manning, 88, of Mocabee Creek Road, Olive Hill, Ky., went home to be with her Lord Saturday morning, 
June 17, 2006, in the Med-Central Medical Center in Mansfield, Ohio.

Mrs. Manning was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Jones Stanley.

Martha was a homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She was a Christian 
and a member of the Bowen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for more than 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gerald T. Manning; one son-in-law, J.C. Smith; 
four brothers, Jim Stanley, Herb Stanley, Ed Stanley and Raymond Stanley; 
and six sisters, Pearlie Hamm, Linda Ferrell, Thelma Wells, Lelah Stanley, Venetta Stanley and Georgia Tackett.

Martha is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Doris and Dave Carr, Loretta and Harold Caudill, all of Mansfield, Ohio, 
Jo Ann Smith of Olive Hill, Donna and Levon Manning of Morehead, Ky., and Gay and Donald Wharton of Asheboro, N.C.; 
15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; 
and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Sonny Tackett 
and Pastor Dale Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery on Mocabee Creek Road in Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 6 tonight, anytime Monday and before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

John Smith, Jim Smith, Jeff Caudill, Greg Caudill, Tim Caudill, David Carr, Derek Carr, Doug Carr and Tim Wharton will serve as pallbearers.
