Joseph Suttles 1914-2003 Joseph Suttles, 89, of Grayson, Ky., passed away Friday, Dec. 19, at his residence, after a long illness. Mr. Suttles was born in Morgan County, Ky., Nov. 18, 1914, a son of the late Henry and Amanda Sue Cassidy Suttles. He was a retired welder with the Fridgidaire Corp. in Dayton, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gaythel King Suttles; one son, Charles Kermit Suttles; three brothers, Johnny, Arlie and Edward Suttles; two sisters, Lacy Prater and Mary Jane McCoy; one grandson, Joseph Harold Suttles; one great-grandson, Charlton Blake Burchett; and one son-in-law, Jack Brewer. Surviving are seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Joe Morris and Sara Suttles of Industry, Ill., Henry Clay and Mary Suttles of Grayson, John P. and Mary Suttles of Phoenix, Larry Lee and Dora Suttles of Grayson, Terry Ree Suttles of Ashland, Ky., Norris Lane and Ella Suttles of Ashland, and Daniel and Marcia Suttles of Gregoryville, Ky.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Darlene Gay and Raymond Oakley of Grayson, Gaythel Arlene and Calvin Burchett of Grayson, and Susie Belle Brewer of Grayson; one brother, Sidney Suttles of Bremein, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Lewis Davis and Paul Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
