Barbara J. Lawson Barbara J. Lawson, of Greensburg, 70, died Monday in her residence. Barbara was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Grahn, Ky. , to the late Stinson & Althea (Gilliam) Valandingham. She was born & raised in Kentucky. She moved to Decatur County in 1962 from Dayton, Ohio. She previously owned & operated the J & L Restaurant, The Downtown Restaurant and the Pine Lake Restaurant at Westport. She was a member of Westport Baptist Church On Feb. 16, 1953, in Gray-son, Ky., she married John E. Lawson. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2002. Barbara is survived by a son, Larry Lawson of Greens-burg; a daughter, Debbie (Mark) Owens of Greensburg; grandchildren Aaron Owens, Michelle Lawson and Gabe Lawson; great-grandchildren Kaleb Lawson,Hunter Owens, Landon Owens and Timothy Setser; sisters Vickey Eden of Olive Hill, Ky., and Shirley Chapman of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; and brothers Marvin Valandingham of Eaton, Ohio, and Romie Valandingham of Grahn. She was also predeceased by her step-mother, Ruby Valan-dingham, a daughter, Rita, a great-grandson, Quinton Lawson and by brothers Billy Valandingham, Orville Valandingham, Sam-mie Valandingham and Tommy Valandingham. Visitation: is Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. in Bass & Gasper Funeral Home. Funeral is Thursday, 11 a.m., in Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Entombment will be in Gar-land Brook Cemetery at Columbus. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Decatur County, the Letts Volunteer Fire Department, or the Westport Volunteer Fire Department, through the funeral home.
