Elmer F. Zornes Elmer F. Zornes Oct. 15, 1910 - April 19, 2004 GREENFIELD Former Shirley resident Elmer F. Zornes, 93, Greenfield, died April 19, 2004, at Regency Place Healthcare Center. He was born Oct. 15, 1910, in Olive Hill, Ky., the son of the late Millard Lacy and Hattie Pearl (Cline) Zornes. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson and was a woodworker and plasterer. He was a member of the Shirley Christian Church and United Auto Workers Local 662. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Maryland. He was an avid fisherman. Survivors include two daughters, Lucille (husband, Hollis) Lewman of Markleville and Linda Lou (husband, Donald) Dreyer of Marinette, Wis.; a son, Larry (wife, Linda) Zornes of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Lane of Westport and Anna Mae Webb of North Vernon; a brother, Phillip Zornes of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Wheeler) Zornes, in 2000; two sons, Winfred Zornes and Dennis McDonald; and two granddaughters, Vicki Lewman and Julie Zornes. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Shirley Christian Church with Pastor James Hill officiating. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
