The church was founded by Rev. Steven L. Porter, who was a son of Andrew J.
This Porter family moved from Grayson Co. Va. in 1866 to Carter Co. KY.
Rev. Steve Porter and several other family members later moved to Antigo, Wisconsin in 1908.
He died in there in 1932.
