John L. Carroll and Mary Elizabeth Parsons
John L. Carroll was the son of Samuel Carroll (Daniel, Luke). Samuel was born on 24 May 1842 in Carter Co, KY. He died on 26 Feb 1926 in Carter Co, KY. Samuel first married Jane Barker Tackett. He then married Armelda Parsons, daughter of John F. Parsons and Sarah Jane Walker, on 26 Mar 1866. Armelda was born on 15 Apr 1841 in VA. She died on 27 Nov 1903 in Carter Co, KY.
Samuel and Armelda had the following children:
1. George W. Carroll was born in 1864. George married Teresa "Recie" Parsons, daughter of John F. Parsons and Sarah Jane Walker. Teresa was born on 19 Feb 1868. in Carter Co, KY. She died on 26 Feb 1937 in Carter Co, KY. George then married Mae Lester.
2. John L. Carroll was born on 16 Oct 1866. He died on 11 May 1947. John married Mary Elizabeth Parsons.
3. Mary Jane "Marie" Carroll was born in 1868 in KY. Jane Carroll married Bill Leadingham.
4. Julia Carroll was born on 3 Oct. 1870. She died on 10 March 1949. Julia married Frank Coburn.
5. Pheba Jane Carroll was born in 1871 in KY. Pheba married James F. Parsons, the son of John F. Parsons and Sarah Jane Walker, on 26 Sep 1888 in Carter County, Ky. James was born in 1866.
6. Nancy E. Carroll was born in 1873 in KY. Nancy married William Crockett.
7. Jehemiah Lina Carroll was born in Oct 1876. She died in 1960.
8. Amanda Lee Carroll was born in 1879 in KY. She first married a Mr. Lee, and second, Mace Cantrell.
9. William D. Carroll was born in Sep 1880 in Carter Co, KY.
10. Litha Ide Carroll was born in April, 1886.
11. Robert "Bob" Carroll was born on 19 Jun 1884. He died on 22 Dec 1951. Robert married Annie Alexander.
12. Daniel Boone Carroll.
13. Elizabeth Carroll married James Gilbert.
