Della (Carter) "Dell" Tackett and Sarah (Carter) "Sade" Stamp
These are the sisters of Lafayette "Lafe" Carter, and children of Asberry "As" and Mahala "Hala" (Curnutte) Carter. The date on the picture is 1955 and it appears to have been taken at the Carter home place on Carter Branch, Lower Stinson.
"All three of the sisters that survived childhood raised their families, died, and were buried in Butler, Pennsylvania. Only two of the original nine children of Asberry and Mahala (Curnutte) Carter, that moved with them to Carter County around 1900, actually stayed in Carter County. These were my grandfather Lafe Carter and his brother Frank."
This is from the collection of William Oscar Tackett and may have been inherited by him from the estate of Chester "Chet" Tackett.
