"My parents on their wedding day in January 1956. The photo was taken at a house on Carter Branch occupied at the time by Virgil Lanson & Daisy Roberts Everman who were Mom's brother-in-law and sister. This same house was owned by my father's brother, Roy Carter. My parents spent their wedding night and lived in the Old Carter Place on Carter Branch."
This is a photo of my father, Leonard Carter, and his cousin, Sylvia Carter. Sylvia was raised by Dad's mother, Rosena Burton Carter. This photo, which is in the collection of Donna (Roberts) Carter, was taken in the 1930's, on the road above the Carter home place on Carter Branch.
"
Harve Burton, and my dad, Leonard Carter. Dad was around age 16 at this time. When they retold the story of this fish, it tended to grow. It became much larger, and became a catfish, rather than the carp or sucker it started as.
Harve was a brother of my grandmother, Rosena Burton Carter."
