The photo is Mitchell Clark and his wife Sarah (Stanley) Clark, taken in Williard, KY about 1885. Mitchell and Sarah are the GGgrandparents of the submitter. In the 1850 Carter Co. census, he is listed as being 30 years old, and she, 27. Both indicated they were born in Virginia, and had four children: James (7), William A. (6), Mary Jane (submitter's Ggrandmother, 4), and John T. (1). Mitchell was a farmer with $200 of assets. They are listed in the 1860 Boyd Co. (formerly part of Carter) census with two more children Bryant S. (10), and George W. (3). I am unable to trace either the Clark or Stanley families back to Virginia, and have not found a marriage record for Mitchell and Sarah.
