Eugene M. Clay was born September 4, 1868, prob. in Carter Co., Ky. and died December 9, 1939.
Eugene is buried at the Haywood Cem. Eugene was the son of James Hansford Clay and Eliza ClayClay.
He married Orena Victoria Haywood. Orena was born July 8, 1876, prob. in Carter Co., Ky. and died January 17, 1968.
Orena is buried in the Haywood Cem. Orena was the daughter of Thomas James Haywood and Mary Jane Tomlin Haywood.
Eugene and Orena had no children but raised several.
Eliza Belle Loveless referred to them as her parents in her obit.
They also helped raise several nephews of Orena's. Orena remarried after Eugene died to William "Bill" Martin Tipton.
She had no children with Bill.
There are still relatives living of Eliza Belle Loveless Plank that decorate Orena and Eugene's grave at Memorial Day.
