Sarah Ann Counts
Sarah Ann (Counts) Madden, daughter of Christopher S. Counts and Mary Ann Bishop, was born in Carter County, Ky on February 8, 1856. She married David Otho Madden on January 19, 1875. David and Sarah moved to Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas about 1883-1885. She died in Ellis County on June 3, 1931. This is a charcoal drawing done around 1900 and based on a lost tintype made in 1875 at the time of their marriage. She was one month shy of her 20th birthday.
