Della G. DeHart, a lifelong Carter County citizen, son of the late James and Amanda Armstrong DeHart,
was born in Carter Co. Ky., June 18, 1876 and departed this life at the Stovall Memorial Hospital at
Grayson, Ky., on Sunday, evening, Dec. 17, 1956, at 7:30 o'clock from pneumonia. Mr. DeHart, who had
been in ill health for quite some time, became very ill two weeks ago, suffering a stroke, but after a few
days he was much improved and able to be up and around, but developed pneumonia and was taken to
the hospital. Everything that medical aid could do was done for Mr. DeHart. Funeral services were
conducted at the Pilgrim Holiness Church on Garvin Ridge, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev.
Walter Duncan, pastor of that church, assisted by Rev. Robert Wilson, officiated. Burial followed in the
family plot in the Garvin Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Leslie A. Henderson Funeral Home. On
July 30, 1896, Mr DeHart was united in marriage to Miss Nannie Jarvis of this city, and to this happy
union was born nine children, four preceding him in death. He was a loving husband, a kind and gentle
father, a good neighbor and friend, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and
friends. He will be missed, not only by his good wife, and children, but by everyone who knew him. All we
can say is "our loss is Heaven's gain." Mr. DeHart leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Mrs.
Nannie Jarvis DeHart, four daughters, and one son, Mrs. Mona D. Bond, Mrs. Edna Biggs, both of Olive
Hill, Mrs. Helen D. Qualls of Mt. Clemmons, Mich., and Mrs. Opal D. Biggs of Columbus, Ohio, and Roy L.
DeHart of this city; 30 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren;and one great-great-grandchild; one sister,
Mrs. Hester Mullins, and one brother, Willie DeHart, both of this city, and a host of other relatives and
friends. One sister, Mrs. Sarah D. Sparks and two brothers, Charles DeHart and Johnny DeHart,
proceeded him in death.


Della married Nannie "Anne" Jarvis  daughter of James Jarvis and Mary Ann WILBURN on 30 Jul 1896 in Carter Co, KY. 
Nannie was born on 7 Sep 1878 in Carter Co, Ky. She died on 21 Jul 1971. She was buried in Garvin Ridge Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY, USA.

They had the following children:

Mona Jane "Monnie" Dehart was born on 18 Jan 1898. She died on 19 Dec 1983.

Edna Lola DEHART was born on 14 Feb 1905. She died on 11 Jun 1991.

Helen DEHART was born on 19 Aug 1907 in Carter Co, KY, USA. She died on 28 Dec 1983 in Columbus, Franklin Co, OH. 
She was buried in Garvin Ridge Cemetery, Olive Hill, Carter Co, KY.  Helen married Carl Qualls .

Roy L DeHart was born on 7 Jul 1910. He died on 10 Oct 1995.

Opal DEHART was born on 19 Jul 1915. She died on 2 Apr 1984.
