This photo of Virgil Lanson Everman and his sister, Ella Mae Everman, is from the collection Rick Withrow.
Virgil married Daisy Roberts, the daughter of Burton & Sadie Forrest Roberts
Rick is the grandchild of Virgil and Daisy.
Evermans were some of the earliest settlers in Carter County and especially in the Gregoryville area. Virgil Lanson told me of his father running a bandsaw sawmill that could saw logs as tall as a man. It was Virgil's eventual job to keep all the blades sharp. Even in his old age he continued to sharpen chainsaws.
Virgil's grandson was very much into genealogy at one time. It was he who supplied me with the Everman pictures.
Virgil is also my uncle by marriage, in that he married my mother's sister, Daisy Roberts. Lanson's son was my first wife's father.
