I believe this photo was taken around 1906 at the Forrest place on Rockhouse Road near Iron Hill in Carter County. The area was once known as DeEvert. This photo was taken on the Tygart Creek side of the house and not the side facing Rockhouse Road. The actual house still stands though it is a real mess.
Left to Right: Neva (Vanhoose) Forrest, the wife of Nathanial "Nay" Forrest who stands with the horse at the far right; Earnest "Ern" Forrest holding the cat; Malissa (James) Forrest, holding a child of Nathanial (possibly Blanch); Lelia Forrest standing behind Melissa; Sadie Belle Forrest next right; and, Nathanial to the far right.
Malissa is the parent of the Earnest, Lelia, Sadie and Nathaniel, grandmother of Blanch and is the widow of Robert Forrest who had died ca1901.

Sadie Belle and Lelia Forrest
Sadie and Lelia were sisters. Sadie was about 17 when this photo was taken. Lelia was younger. This photo was taken circa 1904.
These photos belong to my mother, Donna Roberts Carter, youngest daughter of Sadie Forrest Roberts and Wesley Burton Roberts. Sadie was my grandmother. She died in 1988 at 101 years. She had been healthy until perhaps three months before her death when the death of a daughter brought about her decline. She loved to sew and was still threading her own needles at age 100.
Sadie Belle Forrest, at the Fultz home, circa 1940's.
This photo is from my mother's collection (Donna Roberts Carter).
Sadie Belle (Forrest) Roberts, Mary (Damron) Carter, Rose Mary (Kartune) Withrow, Helen (Posey) Carter. The child in front of Helen (Posey) Carter would be Helen's son, Philip Robin Carter. To the right of Helen is Virgie (Carter) Withrow. Kneeling is Madge (Carter) Hall.
"My mother believes she was the photographer and that this photo was taken circa 1959 or '60 at the site of Mary (Damron) Carter's home on Carter Branch off Lower Stinson."
Daisy (Roberts) Everman, Ethel (Roberts) Stamper, Christine (Roberts) Harr and Donna (Roberts) Carter are/were sisters and the daughters of Wesley Burton Roberts and Sadie (Forrest) Roberts. Donna was the photographer. The children are all grandchildren or great granchildren of Burton and Sadie.
This photo was taken in 1955 to 1957.
"This photo of Sadie was taken at my mother's home (Donna (Roberts) Carter) at Lower Stinson, ca1982."
