"This was shared with me recently by a member of the Jesse Barnhill family. On the back was written "Aunt Dodie" Colley or Conley." "The Barnhill, Colley and Conley families lived near each other in the Pactolas area during the early 1910's." "We would like to identify her, if possible." Submitted by: Mary Littleton
Crediting Lawrence Bradley and Garnet Dixon for the identification of our unknown Barnhill related lady. She is Lucinda Hanner, daughter of Alexander (Sr) and Lucinda (Anglin) Hanner. Lucinda was born 10-6-1838 and died 12-29-1924. She married James A. Scott on July 29, 1856. James A Scott was born in 1834 and died 11-25-1874. They had eight children: John, James William, Charles, Solomon, Tennessee, George, Henry and Virginia. James A. Scott was supposedly hit by a train and killed on the EK Railroad in 1874. James and Lucinda were buried in the Anglin Cemetery, Rt. 1 near Hopewell, on the Carter County line. Lucinda Scott married Whitley Colley on July 26, 1876 when she was 35 and he was 24. To this union were two daughters, Ella and Ida. Submitted by: Mary Littleton sponger350 at alltel.net
