Letha King was born November 5, 1899 in Grayson, Carter County, KY. She was the daughter of Charles "Charlie" King and Lillie Salyers of Carter Co., KY.

Letha married John Milton Phillips about 1920 or before in Carter County. They lived in Carter County until about the mid 1920s when they moved to Kanawha County, WV. They had four childern together, but only two of them lived into adulthood.

After John Phillips' death in 1938, Letha married Stanton Conley in WV. They had two children, Erma and Mary.
Letha died November 5, 1962 in Oak Hill, WV and is buried at the Montgomery Memorial Park in London, WV.
